Meet our new Conservation Research Associate
We are excited to welcome Will Baughman to the Institute's research team. As a full-time graduate student at Duke University's Nicholas School of the Environment, Will comes to us with a unique blend of international ecosystem restoration experience and conservation policy knowledge.
Will is also no stranger to the Institute, having previously made several distinguished contributions to our programming. He was awarded a Stanback Fellowship this past summer to help the Institute examine diversity-focused recruitment practices among conservation employers, authoring Augmenting Conservation Hiring. Additionally, the Institute is the client host for Will's Masters Project, in which he and a student partner are exploring whether proximity to protected areas influences conservation ballot measure passage.
In his role as a Conservation Research Associate, Will be the primary author for the Institute's weekly Park Perks, spotlighting research on the key benefits parks and protected areas provide our communities and our planet.
